7:50am: NFL Draft talk here. I think Ted Thompson did a great job this weekend at the draft. Granted I was surprised with a wide receiver with their first pick of the draft, but Jordy Nelson is a big tough guy that Green Bay might not have in their "fab five" group of receivers last year. I love Thompson taking Brian Brohm in the 2nd and Matt Flynn at QB in the 7th. These guys should nice additions behind Aaron Rodgers. If the team does sign a veteran, Flynn could get stashed on the practice squad. I like the DB Lee, and the tight end out of Texas should be a nice compliment to Donald Lee and the two linemen will add depth up front.
8:20am: Kay from the Volunteer Center of Fond du Lac County stopped by for her weekly chat. Today is the last day to buy tickets for The Cheers For Volunteers Awards Banquet which is on May 1st at the Ramada Plaza Hotel. Cocktails are at 5:30pm/Dinner at 6:30pm. Tickets are $25. If you have any question you can call Kay at 926-1414.
8:50am: As part of a promotion with KFIZ, Charter Communications, and World Wrestling Entertainment, we awarded free Pay Per Views for last night's Backlash event. With that, we were given digital camera's to give away. The winner was Kris Wells.
Paul Levandowski also won a pair of tickets to the Green Bay Packers Basketball Game against the Fond du Lac All-Stars, featuring Travis Diener which will be on Monday, May 12th at Fond du Lac High School. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students in advance. They are $20 and $15 at the door. Buy them in advance at Hopper's on North Main Street or the KFIZ Studios on Winnebago Drive across from A&W in Fond du Lac. All proceeds benefit Fond du Lac High School FBLA and the Fond du Lac Athletic Department as they raise funds for a storage shed behind the high school.
