Breakfast Club - Show #11 - 4/24/08

Here's some highlights from today's Breakfast Club Program on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ. As always check out KFIZ.com for the latest local news, weather, and sports.

6:03am: You can tell the weather is changing as I saw the first person in my neighborhood mowing the lawn on Wednesday afternoon. KFIZ Newsman Bob Nelson said he saw someone in his neighborhood doing that a few weeks ago. I would love to mow my lawn...I just moved into a new home last summer and still do not have my lawn seeded. That should come next week!

6:18am: Karl Klopitic's Weather: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance for rain. Look for a high of 71 today.

6:25am: Entertainment News: The final totals are in and the special "American Idol Gives Back" raised $65 million dollars for underprivlieged children...Last night on IdolCarly Smithson was voted off...Actress Megan Fox from The Transformers movie was voted the #1 sexiets woman by FHM Magazine. Jessica Biel was #2 on the list while Jessica Alba was #3...There are new episodes of Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and Lost on ABC tonight...Actor Wesley Snipes will be sentenced today for failing to file income tax documents. He could get 3 years in prison.

6:40am: The History Vault: In 1800 the Library of Congress was established...In 1965 The Game of Love by Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders hit #1 on the music charts...In 1969 Paul McCartney appeared in public for the first time after rumors swirled that he was dead...In 1981 IBM introduced the first PC.

6:50am: KFIZ News Quiz: Irene Petrie correctly knew that the Fond du Lac Police vs. Fond du Lac Fire Department Basketball Game is being held at the Riverside Elementary School Gym tonight. She won a pet prize pack.

7:18am: Brian Carter checked in from Fond du Lac Seafood. Fond du Lac Seafood is located at 63 North Main Street in Fond du Lac. Give Brian a call at 517-TUNA (8862). He recommends you call in an order if there is something special you might want. Brian said he has some info on eating fish and being pregnant. If you'd like more information, give him a call.

7:25am: Celeb Birthdays: Singer Kelly Clarkson is 26...Actor Michael O'Keefe (Danny Noonan on Caddyshack) is 53...Singer Barbara Streisand is 66...Actress Shirley MacLaine is 74.

7:45am: Ticket Window Thursday: Bill Schaefer of Oakfield won a pair of tickets to see the Brewers and Dodgers on May 13th for correctly knowing that Tommy Lasorda managed Ben Sheets in the 2000 Summer Olympics

7:50am: Eleven Illinois high school students may miss their graduation over a Senior Prank. The Lake County News reports that 10 boys dressed up as bananas while the other member donned a gorilla suit and chased them through the school. The've been slapped with a seven day suspension and may have to miss the prom and graduation. The group's leader says they were looking to do a "harmless prank" Supporters think the school's punishment was way to harsh.
